The TEDxAUBG team chats on club experience & a spirit worth spreading (pt.1)
What makes our teammates, the cogs in our TEDxAUBG wheel, keep moving? How did we survive and thrive in the midst of a shaky semester while organizing our tenth annual conference? We were curious to see what motivates our teammates and makes them excited to be part of the club. That’s why we went into a reporter-style mode (full-scale)! Join us in chatting about casual TEDxAUBG stuff with Danny, Tedi, and Joana who share more about their club journey:

Q: Why did you decide to join TEDxAUBG?
A: I was watching a lot of TED and TEDx talks even before I enrolled in AUBG. And when I decided, I would like to do my bachelor’s at AUBG, I had a friend there who told me about TEDxAUBG. That was the selling point for me. Once I began learning more and more about the club and what it does, I knew I had to give it a try.
Q: What do you like the most about the club?
A: There are a lot of things that come to mind when I read this question. If I had to narrow them down to just two, I would say the team bond and the value the conference brings to the AUBG community.
Q: What is your favorite TEDxAUBG memory?
A: I will never forget this. It was right after the closing ceremony of the 2019 Conference “Elusive Truth”. Desislava Stoeva, our president back then, had just given her speech and that was the moment we knew we made it. The conference was a fact, everything had gone amazingly. The audience was clapping, all the speakers and the rest of the team were on the stage, we were all hugging, laughing, crying… It was one of the purest moments in my life. I will always hold it dear in my heart.
Q: What keeps you motivated?
A: Knowing that all the hard work pays off eventually. When it all comes to fruition, we get to experience what teamwork and dedication can accomplish.
Q: Describe TEDxAUBG with one word.
A: Professionalism
Q: Why did you decide to join TEDxAUBG?
A: Since high school, I enjoyed TED videos and when I came to AUBG for open house day and learned more about the club, I realized that I can contribute to making an official TEDxAUBG conference and that sparked my interest.
Q: What do you like the most about the club?
A: The spirit.
Q: What is your favorite TEDxAUBG memory?
A: The first teambuilding I went to. We played many games and got to know each other through them. I instantly felt welcomed.
Q: What keeps you motivated?
A: The people, our team is very close and the passion for TED keeps us going.
Q: Describe TEDxAUBG with one word.
A: Inspiring.
Q: Why did you decide to join TEDxAUBG?
А: I decided to join TEDxAUBG because, since I came to AUBG, I’ve been hearing great things from other people on campus: that the whole atmosphere in the club is really friendly, that the team members are as a family, and they have lots of fun together. That’s why I signed up for the interviews.
Q: What do you like the most about the club?
A: That I am a member of the Sponsorship department and I am in charge of the financial endeavours. I am proud of what my team has done so far and I love that we are contributing to such conference. I am invested in the club.
Q: What is your favourite TEDxAUBG memory?
A: This one is yet to come- our 2022 conference.
Q: What keeps you motivated?
A: Our common goal is what pushes us all. Each department has its aims but the common one- our event is what makes us grow and develop personally as well as together as a team.
